The colors are very nice in this one. And the road gos far. The sky is great.
Perfection is what drives an artist.
The inability to achieve perfection is what creates a work of art.

Oh my Carl. I had first saw this and thought I really liked the colors and all. Which is true so I never really looked much at the things you were describing here. So as you described that, I went back and looked at each thing..........just so I could learn something for myself. What caught me was that you had mentioned distance and perspective...of which I am no good at and I have been looking online for tutorials and such about it. I have such a problem with it. But you helped me see some of the stuff here.

For Haleyd1953:
Although I cannot go through and pick out the things Carl did, I still think the colors are very pretty and an eye catcher. Yet at a glance, the plants in the front look a little withered to me now that I really looked at it after Carl mentioned it.

Hello Carl, Thank you for your very insightful critique,it offers me concrete solutions to some very basic artistic problems that I have, one of them being the inability to paint anything realistically . It seems that I lack the patience for realism, everything I paint has an abstract feel to it.Is it common for an abstract artist to have this particular problem? AS regards this painting, It is intentional that the road should look rugged and uninviting, hence the title The road not taken. Again thank you for taking the time to give such a thorough critique, you didn't insult me, you encouraged me to try some different things!

I like this painting. The colors are vibrant and varied and like Carl said, they suggest that the road not taken stretches on forever. So painting it that way would be great!
This painting is inspiring to me by it's colors and the fact that it's done in acrylic. Good work!

Hello Carl, I took a moment to check out some of your work, it is obvious that you are not afraid to take risks with color, this is very refreshing to me. Your works are bold, and unpredictable, there isn't any thing subtle about them. I like that!

Hi Carl, I think perhaps I used the wrong word in describing your work, what I meant to say is your works are not typical, sunset's don't really present themselves the way you paint them, but somehow your style works for me. It is very difficult for me to describe art in words, but hopefully you get the jist of what I'm trying to say.
