Awesome. Must be paper again. Looks like a strange variety of houseplant just pushing up new growth. Is there a use conceived for it, such as to hold a dried flower arrangement?

Joe, it was originally white, stained it with coffee, loved the colour. Should I add more colour to it? You got me thinking. Gotta get those roses first I guess. Erika

I think the color looks great. Just wondering what you were thinking. It reminds me of the faux finish I have in my living room. It will look great with the dried roses.

I love the color as is. Coffee as stain. I would not have guessed that, yet, now that you say it, I can see it, yes. Black japanese caligraphy would be good, if done austerely. I love the sophistication of the utter simplicity, however. And I find that, if dried roses are to grace it, that should yield a very powerful but genteel statement without needing to embellish the vase.

DL, the beautiful colour of the coffee stain was a pleasant surprise. Now I know what to do with leftover coffee . I'll get those roses first, and then decide if it needs more colour or not. Erika

Now I can see the work and get a feel about it. At 1st when I seen the heading for this post. I thought it said New York. As if that was the title of the work. I could'nt see a conection. Did'nt know how to conment. But then I seen it said New Work. Now I have a feel for it. I like the shape and color of the vase. I really like the way it,s made at the top. Would'nt change the color. As far as putting somthing in side. Maybe you should consider makeing somthing to put in it. Perhaps you could used some coat hangers. Hammer them, put them over a stove eye fire. Or use a propane bottle and soilder. You could make them look just like flower stems. And use you paper to make flowers and leaves. Add the colors. But also the vase looks very nice like it is. Very good work.

Hi Erika, I love the vase! I would have never guessed it was made out of paper...amazing. I think it would look wonderful with some kind of flowers or even tall
anches standing in it. Can't wait to see what you decide.

Thanks John and Lea for your comments. Paper flowers could work with the vase. With the next one, that is. Because I'm afraid I ruined this one with the red I added to it. It killed the lovely coffee colour. I took a risk with this, and it didn't work out...The good thing is, I can always make another one. And because I figured it out how to make it, hopefully it will only take me half the time.
Anyway, I learned a valuable lesson thanks to this experiment. Trust your instincts and when you feel the work is finished, put it down. Erika
