I'm not satisfied with the background. Is there a way to make it better?

Hi, Shweta! The leaf and dewdrops are beautiful.
What do you think about painting in some fade-back leaves
or a fade-back of the tree that the leaf hangs from? ehoeveler

Hi Shweta. I agree, you did a fantastic job on the leaf and dew drops. I actually think a simple faded sky as a background with would work well. Less competition for the leaf and will be in a natural setting. It would work because you have zoomed in on the leaf. The tree doesn't have to be visible. But Elizabeth's suggestion is very good also.

Great looking leaf! I wold like to see a litle color in the background. Maby a litle red or somthing on the sky. if you deside to do that. Or if you go whit ehoeveler, maby autumn colors on the other leafs?

Thanks for the feedback. The colour in the background is too dark and therefore I'm unable to change it. I applied a coat of black to even out the spots but it's not working.
I think I need to do it all over again.

If you have some oil pant handy, try using it for the background. You will have no problem covering the dark watercolor background with oils.

Here's what I do. For the hard to cover colors
I go in and paint over a white base maybe, 2 coats.
That ought to at least 'gray out' your dark and
give you more color options. I know since this
is a watercolor, you don't want to slap on too
much paint but I do think a couple of thinly
applied layers of white before adding your color
of choice will definitely help! E.

I don't know, I actually would like to see a very dark background on it. Maybe a super so dark it looks black red. To me that would just make the leaf jump right off the page.
