I don’t think it looks like a child’s work.
In my opinion you have done well whit the colures. Like the way it looks like the 2 flowers are dancing in the wind.
However i would like to see more shadows, and high lights is missing. The background culd use some attention to.
I whole it look pretty good! Just not quite finished.

Agree with ksart-se. These flowers are
quite nice - they show your love of this species.
Wouldn't hurt to put a little depth to the background.

This isn't child-like at all! It actually reminds me of how I paint. I'm just getting started too. I think there maybe a little too many leaves on the flower on the right. I think I would either do what the other guys said and add shading or go the other way with it and make it all about the flowers with very sharp lines and lose the background (make it one color) altogether.

I really appreciate all of your comments. I know I will master all of those techniques-although bit by bit.I used to draw a lot when I was a kid,never got the chance to learn it from a pro.
