All Tucked In

Just finished this in my series of the Spinone Italiano.
Another pastel, this one is 8 x 10.
3 down, about 12 more to go!

CCs welcomed!

Looks great. I would like to see a little more contrast in the fur on the head and face. The detail appears a little weak and would be accentuated with a bit more contrast in certain areas. The ear of the dog on left could also use some final highlights and shadows. It loks flat. Overall, very nice work. Just needs some final touches.

Thanks for that helpful critique Joe! Yes, I totally agree, the pup's ear needs more depth. I will try to add more detail to the whites by reworking my colors there a bit. I can see where that would add to the overall look of the fur.

Sorry, this is now going off topic-
I was up until 1:30 AM this morning working on this, then after finally going to bed, I was rudely awakened by tornado warning on the Noa radio I keep on for safety. I rushed to get myself and my dogs down to the basement, winds were howling fiercely and rain was torrential.
After it passed I watched the news in horro as less than an hr. away, that same storm let loose an F-4 tornado, taking lives and property in Harrisburg, IL.
Last count was 6 confirmed dead, total devastation in that small town. My prayers are with all those affected in Harrisburg and surrounding areas.
Thank the Lord for keeping me and mine safe.
Friday's forecast is bringing another round of severe storms, so I will put this painting on hold as I need to put together a disaster kit and do necessary errands.

I appreciate your advice Joe and will make the changes!

I have looked at several of your recent works. I can just not believe how much you have improved.
I am just shocked!

WOOHOO! The lady that allowed me use of her ref. photo has just told me she wants to purchase the painting! So, this painting will be on it's way to the UK! But not until after the show I am doing at the end of April, as I did this one expressly for that show.

I agree with Joe's initial comments, however I wanted to really say that I am very fond of this composition... it works nicely as a painting.

I agree completely with the initial critique, and I would love to see an image of the finished painting. It is lovely. :)
