This is truly amazing work. It is a wonderful design with great dynamic. The detail is very good. The different materials provide a wonderful contrast as well.

great work.

Very nice...

Reminds me of the historical artwork I saw while visiting the Mayan ruins in the Yucatan.

Refreshing blend of past and present. Fantastic job!

Not bad.

I agree that the use of different mediums is visualy interesting.

I'm a bit disappointed in the texture of the "snake like" form, which wraps around the figure. It looks as though you spent a decent amount of time working on the two figures then just took a needle tool and drew some lines to get something that sort of resembles scales on that part of the piece.

The expression of the human face is very stoic, which adds to the feeling that this is an important person. Expressions are difficult, and this one is good. The eyes aren't looking at the same thing though. The face doesn't feel very feminine, but the
easts are a give away. Proportions of the body parts aren’t accurate. I’m not sure if this is intentional or not. I’m not familiar enough with the source of inspiration for the work.

I’m never a big fan of an over stated signature either. Make work that’s good and of your own, and a signature shouldn’t even be needed, particularly one that fights for attention in the front of the piece.
It seems like you’re on a good path; keep working. I hope this helps. I tend to be to the point.

Hello all,

nice, I do like the eyes, the difference in the eye direction make me think that the head is moving quicky, I do also like the exaggerated hands and other features that creates more demmension and movement, the right hand seems to blure in movement. all in all a very interesting peace, keep it up :)

:D Hey! After viewing your mex flavored terra-cotta piece
I have to say well executed.

That being said, be careful of where things fall
relative to others (space) and scale.

There really isn't a strong focal point and the
figures sort
of fight for attention.

Hands are a b to get right.
However, they are very symbolic and carry much power and visual
interest so take care when creating them.
The hands of the tinier entity are interesting.

I can see you are onto something
so hopefully these critiques will spur you
to your very best.

We are all individuals and creativity is a
beautiful way to express
oneself.

Is there a special connection to the Mayans?

They continue to be an amazing group.

Enjoy and Grow.
TO KNOW ME IS TO KNOW THYSELF.
JOY IS WITHIN AND WHEN IT IS SO
IT WILL BE NOT ONLY MANIFESTED
WITHOUT BUT FELT THERE AS WELL.

This is one of those works one needs look at a while. Somthing is going on. Like somthing kind of got out of hand. Maybe a princess and a few caniving ravils. Thier is a gruness that convays that all is not well in the kingdom. A very good work of art.
Perfection is what drives an artist.
The inability to achieve perfection is what creates a work of art.
