Dawn's Glory - sunrise over a mountain pond. Referenced from a photo I took near McCall, Idaho and Payette Lake. Hope you like!

Hi Michael,
Thanks
utha! This is an area near McCall, Idaho, but it reminds me a lot of the small lakes & ponds you find in your neck of the woods!

This is a very well executed landscape. The trees and foliage all feel very consistent. The horizon offers a warm relaxing view. The foreground provides the detail that helps push the perspective.

My only thoughts on improvement would be perhaps pushing the highlights in the immediate foreground to help lead the eye down to the bottom. Right now the hot spot is the horizon, so the eye is draw up to the vista and then descends around the lake. A few nice
ighter glimmers in the plant to the bottom left and the water might help let the viewer pause a bit on the wonderful amount of details that you've captured there as well.

The dead tree on the left hand side almost looks identical to the one in the left side background. This might be how the scene appears in real life, but it does cause me to look at them more than I usually would and can be a little distracting. Changing the angle slightly could help
eak the similarity.

But again, overall this is a wonderful work. Looking forward to seeing more.
