Hi all,
I finished up this piece from WIP(titled Beauty of the Beast) by taking some of the color back OUT! This was no easy task as this is in colored pencil, with a watercolor underpainting.
I like it much better now, as it has more of a softness.
It isn't perfect, I know, I made many mistakes on this one...but would value your comments and suggestions.

he only thing I would change....since this is the fury section.....is add a little speck of white to his eyes so there is some reflection in it.

Keep up the great work. What are you going to do next?

Thanks my friend! I am doing better daily! I am watching myself so I don't overdo, but I'm getting stronger daily!
I really hope I can start painting again soon, the pencils give my unsteady hands more control, but I really miss the freedom I feel while painting. I need to try to loosen up my painting style...then I think I could do it! Being anal about detail is my short coming .

Thank you so much! I have taken a couple of close-ups of the eye, I hope you can see it better in these images. I have several catchlights in the eye, but I can see they are not very visible in the photo of the original. In RL they are seen.

I hope to do a watercolor of a horse(what else ?), I want to try freeing/loosening up my style a bit. We'll see how that goes!

Hi Mike and thanks for commenting!
I use a battery powered eraser to remove the colored pencil. If it isn't burnished(blended with a colorless blender), it comes quite easily off, but in this case I had already burnished, so it took some doing(very careful erasing). I didn't comprimise the surface, which is what I feared.
As you can see, I have sharpened this eraser to a point(using an emery board), makes it very workable for me.

I had recently purchased a new Canon Power shot camera, now if I can just figure out how to take more focused pics . I suppose reading the instruction manual would be benificial, but I haven't taken the time to do so yet.
I know most go through trying to get a decent true to life picture of their art, but I really need to figure out what I am doing wrong...as mine never show up in photos as they are in RL.
I rarely get the opportunity to take outside shots here, as this time of year it is always raining/overcast...yuk!
I have a thread in Art discussion asking for help with studio lighting if anyone can give me any advice, would be appreciated!
