My own school of art with Old Masters

Postby krysta11 » Thu Aug 13, 2009 9:30 pm

Hello everyone,

I would like to present here my newest paintings. As you already know I never had chance to study art. It came to me by itself. Anything I have been painting for nearly 2 years was mostly from my imagination.
I learned here a lot from fellow artists and took every advice, every tip and suggestion very seriously.
Of course it wasn't easy easy to achieve what I really wanted.
I had to ask an old masters to help me to learn more about secrets they used in their paintings. I tried to paint like them. I know it is a long way to grow up to their ankles but at least i try.

Thank you for comments.

Krysta,
I have had the pleasure of watching your style emerge as you have gained confidence in your skills. You create a wonderful atmosphere with each painting that I so enjoy!
I love all three of these! I especially like the first, reminds me of my walks in the countryside. :D
K, you are becoming a master of this style!

Very nice Krysta. These images have a good sense of composition, try to darken some of the shadows a bit more to give a hint of drama as well. You
ighter and highlighted colors stand out great. Keep painting.

Hello William,

I'll do what you said here. Thank you.
I always find something on my paintings to be corrected. :)

Krysta;

You, Barb, and I are the same when it comes to self teaching techniques. Neither of us have had any formal schooling in art and are on a journey to reach our full potentials.

It looks like your journey is being traveled very smoothly.

I, on the other hand am struggling trying to teach myself how to paint. I seem to choose complicated subject matter to learn with. I haven't painted anything since graduating high school in 1976 and started painting again end of July 2009.

I always enjoy your
ight bold colors and subjects.

I don't have any favorites here because I think they are ALL fantastic.

I'm definitely NOT a pro, just started this painting thing. Learning every time I pick up a
ush. I mess something up then wipe off and fix.

Am struggling with the eye of one of my horses right now. Wiped it off three times now. Sooooo I'm not a pro.

You ARE at my level.

I think your paintings are unique and only "you" can paint like that. You have an individual style that nobody else in this world has. You are very lucky. Someday your paintings are going to be worth a great deal of money.
