It is well probably "the leader" in 3-d software creation, that works very well with programs like Photoshop. Alot of traning is needed to know how to develope really great imaging. The movie industry uses it as well as other profesional video game companies. A great start for digital processing would be (Photoshop or Corel Painter) I use both back and forth and they are very powerful endeed. I also have Maya but have not put the time into it to learn enough to use it well.
