New artist. 6th painting 20x16 acrylic

Postby nkanig » Wed Sep 08, 2010 5:50 pm

6th painting 20x16 acrylic. Not really my style, but it's a gift for my Mother. I thought it turned out pretty good, but i think the colors could be more realistic. I didn't know, until after I finished this painting, that it's better to darken a color by using it's opposite color instead of adding black. I've never taken a class, so I'm learning as I go. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for looking.

This is a very nice painting for a learning artist. Your mother will love it. There are a few really good nature artists on this site. Hopefully you will get a chance to meet them and get ideas.

all the best,

A very charming and colorful painting. Sometimes what we don't know. Will work well for us.

The inability to achieve perfection is what creates a work of art.

Im really diggin this Dont worry bout what you didnt know. Art is a constant progression. Those who stray from the norm are oft time the ones thats become the greats. Go with what you feel. Thats the best I can tell ya :D
