Just for fun, a portion from a famous painting will be displayed. The objective is to identify the painting it came from. Post the title of the painting, and name of the artist. (one entry per post). When the correct answer is given, both the portion and complete image of the painting will be posted...
Thanks eddieblz for pointing out my error in the original post. I have now edited it to request posters to name one artist at a time. Or people could just post 100's of names in one go. But your post is no loss to anybody since none of the mentioned artists is who it is. Sorry eddieblz.
Just for fun, a pixelated portrait image of a famous artist needs to be revealed. As soon as someone guesses correctly, the portrait image will be posted. Here is an example using Mona Lisa. http://i1150.photobucket.com/albums/o618/photomaniac7/ASC/FAsample1.jpg So, who is this famous artist? http:/...
Hello MFRart. I agree with the other comments too. Oddly enough, most buyers of original artworks, who are not artists themselves, already have an idea of how much their tastes are worth. It is a well known fact that many art buyers do not necessarily judge art by aesthetics. Instead, they tend to b...
Hello nigelartist. I love the colors and the texture, and it has great balance too. Your painting seems to have a touch of van Gogh and Rousseau. At first I thought the background was incomplete, but the lightness really works well. It keeps the middle and foreground engaged with the viewer (imho). ...
Oh okay nigelartist. I never use a flash with my camera, I always switch it off. Ninety percent of the time it works much better with the flash disabled.
Looking forward to its completion. The background will add more of a story to the end part of the bluebell path. There seems to be a lot more light at the end of the path. Is there an opening of the vegetation, and/or another path crossing it?
That is better artfont. Seeing the new enlarged image made a big difference. I liked the way you have done some of the rocks, especially how you highlighted some of the areas. Also how you done some of the vegetation, especially some of the leaves. Though you done a great job, I feel that it is not ...
The acrylic painting is looking good so far. ... I really want this to come out WOW, but I am stumped right now. WOWs come from the artist space of letting go and having their spiritual self take over. Let your love for the quilter image posses you. I know it can be difficult at times. I often strug...
Hi Gregg. Very interesting architecture, and a good drawing of it too. I am assuming you are working from a photograph. Can you get another photo of the scene (behind the tree)? Here is a similar image I found on Google images. It is not the same, but may give you some ideas. https://36.media.tumblr...
Hello artfont. I could not open the attachment to have a closer look. So it simulates a painting I would see from a distance. I am sorry, but I have a lot of trouble understanding what I am looking at. I can see rocks and vegetation, but little recognition within the busy shapes. Maybe if you could ...
Hi Richard. Richard, I hope you won't mind my intrusion with my comments. You are right about changing our minds and things to a painting. I do the same. Mind stories and emotions have a way of influencing our work. Certain artists are aware of this and paint accordingly. I find it difficult to avoi...
