self portrait

I did this a little while ago, it was my first human (well from picture) drawing.... it needs some fix ups, but I am not going to touch it for fear of ruining what I think is a good piece. What do you think, so I can use for the next attempt at humans......

Very interesting piece. I can see that there is love there. Maybe I am a romantic, but I can see the emotion in the piece. Nicely done.

Thanks xx
eezy. You are so right, there are wholes, besides the obvious one in the center. I wanted to seal it before more colour went on. I should try to use the photography to find the holes for me in the future.... that may be a benefit. Thanks much for your nice comments.

I agree with bpriar, the first one is my favorite. I also agree whole-heartedly with pehiatt. Make it your own and not a piece that you think someone else will love. We make art to keep our hearts happy.
Beautiful pieces. You are awesome

Krysta,

I LOVE this painting. The blue, it is my favorite colours. I get lost in this one. Are you entering it into anything? I think you should consider it.
Can't wait to see more

I like where this is going. There is a lot of mood created wwith the fog. Although, I think with more colour being added into the reflections of the boats and in the water this will just
ing out the drama of the foggy day

this is great, you have great artistry Brian

It is 2 14 x 18 boards. I was thinking that it would be nice to have the continuity of the two pieces so they were painted touching each other. Like I said, I am not sure where it is going, but I like it so far.
Thanks for the nice comments. I'll post when more is done..

I feel the
oken heart.... the first sad reaction that I had.... then it became more complex. Wondering about the confusions of the character in the piece..... like something is just weighing on her..

it turned out ok

For my first try, its okay. It took too long, but I will get faster with the body. The head, feet and hands freak me out, i am not good with those at all.... anyway, what do you think for my first try?

Advice - pastels

Painting surfaces.... I have been using drawing paper suitable for pencil, charcoal and pastel. I would like to layer colour (use fixatif) but I am afraid of drowning the paper. Is there a way to do this? The second question is, I have canvas board - is this a suitable product for pastels or just a ...

Help me start. . . please

I am very new to figure drawing, I took graphic design in collage (now wish it was fine arts) and only had a small amount of time in figure drawing class. Frankly it wasn't a class as opposed to a model in a room and we were given the opportunity to draw. How do look at the paper and start the sketc...

I agree with Joe about the first shot. Although the lens flare is nice, I don't think it is used effectively. I like the cropping of the third image as opposed to the second. it feels a little unfinished with it cropped so tight to the nipple. In the third we can flow with the shadow around the bott...
