Re: Wood Horse

A very nice well-thought-out piece. Looks great. I'd like to see this image maybe duplicated and attached to a larger piece.

The wedding guestbook

It's done! Names of the people will go in the balloons. I figure they can pin/tack some of their wedding memorabilia over if they don't like it. Sorry for the crappy picture.

Re: Spray work

I've been cold more ways than one. Mainly, I've been tormented by this wedding guestbook painting. I haven't allowed myself to paint anything else as to not get sidetracked but it's not helping. The mind has been at work but the hands haven't. crap on crap street.

Re: Morning Magic final

I was just kidding, your style just reminded me of that fishbowl painting.

Re: Spray work - inhaling too may fumes?

Initially I read it as a scene with the subject being a sand demon/monster. I just wasn't sure if I was creating something that wasn't there. I like how the background lingers into the foreground like an acid mist or violent waves bouncing off the shore. Violence clashing with the soft round sun/hea...

Re: Spray work

Is this the hot liquid magma from Terminator 2 and Alien 3? I can almost make out the T1000 in there somewhere.

Kidding aside, those are some neat effects your creating with the paint.

Re: Spray work - inhaling too may fumes?

I like the colors and the overall movement of the piece. Is this going to be another angel piece? Hold on....let me take of huff or two first, maybe the angels are already there.

Re: Welcome

Thanks for your responses. That's just how I paint Nigel. Aesthetically it pleases me. Although I did leave a faded orange smudge mark on some of the pink on the left side which I'll probably touch up. E, I warmed it up digitally and chose to roll with it. But, that's interesting you mentioned that.

Re: Another dark piece

What wonders a lil' bit of red can do. Would you be opposed with a background of a light salmon color? Also, I don't know why but I would love to see this on top of an old map of some kind. I see skulls, I think of Goonies, I want map. And that red mark reminds me of a second hand on a clock. Forgiv...

Re: Angels 2 - Living, Learning. Acrylic 18x24"

Visually, I find the painting very interesting. The atmosphere reminds me of the movie " City of lost Children". If you haven't already, I suggest you watch it to find out what I mean. Features on the face would be one way to create a stronger focal point, but it might kill the overall loo...

Re: Original Comic page 12

Agree with E, only issue I have is that bottom scene. The rendering of space just isn't on par with the rest nor does it have that same dramatic feel to it. Could be it's too structured and not chaotic enough.

Re: Witness to The Mind

Has a nice mystical quality to it. Texture is interesting in the figure, almost sand-like which makes me interpret the waterfall as part of a sand timer. Good stuff, keep painting.

Re: Untitled man/head

I don't know about for you but for me smiling for a picture is like having my teeth pulled out. And I have a very telling face that never lets me get away with it. So i tend to look away for the most part, but if I do look at the camera... well... the piranha chewing his arm thing. Anyway, that's wh...

Re: Untitled man/head

Here is what it looked like back in 2011....better....worse.... I don't know anymore. I know this lacked what I wanted from it, but I'm not sure I came up with the right solution.

Untitled man/head

It had another panel with piranha chewing his arm but I didn't care for it. Not saying this half is much better, but it's at least worth a view or two.
