That darn cowboy again

Treat this as a "just showing" case. I really don't want to go back into this one.

Fantasy Landscape. I just don't think a photo is going to give this one justice. I'll try again another day.

Re: Cowboy phases

Picasso The "Guernica" one<----nailed it. I watched Mystery of Picasso a couple of months ago for the first time and man my mind was blown. I haven't had that reaction to art since my first day of painting101. I mean I was familiar with his work and sketches but to see his process and work...

Cowboy phases

These are all the same painting although each phase/version has it's own vibe( at least i think so). They're some things I would have liked to keep around but wadda gonna do.

Re: Have Not Been Painting Long

Well, one thing you could try is building up the texture. Keep the outside panels thin and slowly build up the gesso/paint as you move towards the center. I don't mean anything too drastic. Just some little nuances to keep me entertained.

Re: Star Maker

Nice start. Just stay away from black paint for now (unless you end up outlining everything in black) and move some of your colors around and you'll be fine. The arm needs some work too. You could make it so her right arm is extending out instead of the the current left. Also, It would need some mov...

Re: Have Not Been Painting Long

My favorite part is the how the painting pulls the viewer to the center. Both the canvas setup and strong contrast in colors really help achieve this dynamic force. I just wish we were a little more rewarded when we do get to the center of a painting. Good stuff all the same. Keep painting!

Re: Cowboy and Amish update

Thanks. I can't stop now with the cowboy, things are just starting to get interesting. They're not a set now Rebecca, but they could always turn into one. As for the concept or lack thereof, my mind wanders quite a bit and my paintings tend to follow. It does grant my paintings freedom to evolve, wh...

Cowboy and Amish update

Wondering if I should continue with the somewhat-geometric pattern? I might throw in some smaller orange triangles to break up some of the other larger shapes.

Re: Work thats getting that work

A painting for a couple I know that's getting married. Keep it warm Collin and don't paint the walls black. Keep it warm and don't paint the walls black. Keep it warm and don't paint the walls black.
