Re: New work

Thanks dear! How about the subject matter? take that to painting too? I thought they were a unique concept...they would make original paintings...

Re: please look at my work

In my experience so far the biggest lesson is there are no shortcuts. It takes a long time, awfully long time. One has to be patient and never lose sight of where one wants to go. Keep trying anything and everything. Most of it won't do a thing but some will bring some results. One at a time. It's a...

Re: thoughts

It's a great painting, very original, however I would say remove the distracting frame with a simple black or other colour taken from you painting. It really invades the viewer's full enjoyment of the great art.

Re: Maybe my age.

Very well said, Brian. It is about our engagement with the lifeless material and how we make it taking shape inside the process. We make it live in another reality, in another dimension. Our 'soul' is improved as a result. Much of what I see in the "art world" out there has no life, no sou...

Re: End of the year reflections

Thanks, Joe, not everything can be expressed through sculpture. :)
Yes, the first year is challenging, yet flies by in a heartbeat in retrospect. Things will get more relaxed as they grow. Enjoy the Holidays, Joe.

End of the year reflections

As the year winds down, I am thinking creatively and personally (because I am unable to separate the two now) this year has been pivotal in my artistic progression. I have tapped into creative resources unknown before and I have become richer through them. I have discovered "side" interest...

Re: Human Skull

These nail sculptures are awesome. I think they would look fantastic for abstract work as well. Or abstracted figures from your paintings. It would be interesting to leave the nails partially uncovered too. Keep experimenting John, the technique is wonderful for all kinds of explorations in new dire...

Re: Samples of my work

Thanks all...well, John, I hope you drift back to painting from time to time, you got some original and intuitive stuff going on there that should not get lost. I usually do a bit of painting between two sculptures, or if I have to wait for paper pulp to dry.

Samples of my work

Here are a few of the things I did in the last year or so. I am learning to draw, and paint occasionally, mostly abstracts.

Re: New...ish drawings

That's awesome, Anthony. Show us the book when you're done. Looking forward to seeing more from you. I've been busy, thank you. I have ventured in different areas of sculpture, plus have done some mixed media paintings and drawings. Which reminds me I should post a few. I have been exhibiting work, ...
