Re: Need help with a question!

Yes. Sorry about not getting right back to you. I will be dealing with this issue after I take care of some other stuff here. Thanks for your interest and patience.

Re: Need help with a question!

Good morning Joe. Of course you know the above is spam. But, I am taking this opportunity to try to communicate with you. About half of this site is dead to me. The section in the box with Hi CarlOwen and all the icons will not work and the area where winners are viewed will not work. Can you help f...

Re: Country Music Star

Thank you both. Ron, the adjustments are so small I can't see them. Eileen, thanks for taking my comments in a positive light as I meant them to be. I agree that opinions are just that, opinions. I have also see over time that extreme opinions from both ends of the spectrum when somehow blend somewh...

Re: Country Music Star

With all due respect Eileen, I totally disagree. It is the bright whites that make this painting have life. It puts the subject in your face. To subdue it would be to kill it. It would become just another picture among all the other pictures that hang on a wall or in a gallery. But to keep the bold ...

Re: Latest effort: Venus Arisen

Thanks for going the extra mile with your demonstration. Understood. I had considered that I might be critiquing the model and not the painting but went for it anyway as it just strikes me as disproportionate. However, looking forward to seeing this one finished.

Re: Latest effort: Venus Arisen

Interesting. I see the same mistake I make from time to time. As I draw out the figure I depend on the shapes I have already drawn. That tends to lengthen the form towards the end of the drawing, which in your case was the top of the buttocks crack. Nice elongated muscle definition in the lower back...

Re: Next Up: A Murder of Crows

Good evening. Thank you for taking my comments seriously. I am honored. Moving on. Yes her legs are thick, but I think that is what actually grounds her figure in this painting. As to using your knee, good for you to do what needs to be done to get the form needed. It looks very good in this paintin...

Re: Country Music Star

Nice. I like the background intruding on the form effect. But I am a little put off by that second peak area on the hat. It looks out of place. I suggest you remove it all together leaving only the one highest peak on the right. I think it would look more natural to the 3/4 portrait construction of ...

Re: Next Up: A Murder of Crows

Nice job on the knee. Kudos! Now, I don't think you are quite finished. Take a strong look at the bottom fleshy part of her left stretched out calf. The calf extends to far into the knee cap and to deep into the ankle. I think it needs some minor adjustment in shaving the calf size just a little thi...

Re: Next Up: A Murder of Crows

Quite dramatic and beautiful. Hope you take care of her right knee. The dark spot kind of looks like a wound.

Re: Cartoon for next painting (update) finished painting

Well, let's just go ahead and make this unanimous. I always enjoy looking at your work and this is no exception. Just to bad it takes weeks and months to do a piece like this to only have that first visual impact of a few seconds. Looking forward to the next five or maybe ten more seconds you are wo...

Re: Any online instruction recommendations for a new painter

Well, it appears you are also forthright and can express yourself very well with your writing. I have closed my studio and am busy packing everything to move back to California. Finding someone to keep my artist's brain alive for the next few months is actually a boon to me. Creativity is not easy a...

Re: Any online instruction recommendations for a new painter

Can you direct me to a map? Short answer is No, because there is no map based on your comment that you wanted to keep your own individuality. And, anyone telling you there is one is stupid, lying or trying to sell you something for hundreds or thousands of dollars you could simply look at online for...

Re: Any online instruction recommendations for a new painter

Good evening Rocco. It sounds like you have arrived at your midlife crisis. While it is compelling to help you find what you want, I will not. You have far to many speed through everything to get to making money issues. If that makes sense then I suggest you hire someone to enhance your job applicat...
