Salvage Job

Behold the trash that collects and becomes art. But don't linger, for any second, the cleaning crew comes in.

Re: Velocipede Heteroclitical Gets Me Cruisin-FINAL

Oh, thank you for the wonderful accolades! I knew this was going to be a good one, because I was nervous every time I added more to it. Big sigh of relief when I said no more! BTW, I want to let you know I'll be on hiatus for a while, getting my marketing house in order. Working on my website and fo...

Velocipede Heteroclitical Gets Me Cruisin-FINAL

Darkening clouds never parted nor appeased my finicky camera until a come whither look and a tap of the foot, a photo appeared.

Re: Acrylic abstract progress

Very psychedelic! Very groovy! I can see this as a backdrop for some go-go dancers with white boots and tall hair dancing to James Brown. Looking forward to what's next. -dk

Re: Sundowner

Hey Nigel-
Glad to see you back painting again. Looks like you're off to a good start with this one. Like riding a bike, you never forget. I like the sunlight in the dark orange areas. Looks almost Van Gogh, but please, keep the ears. Looking forward to the finish.

Re: Velocipede Heteroclitical Gets Me Cruisin WIP

Well, I did some background stuff, hopefully it doesn't take away from the centerpiece. It was cloudy and rainy today, so I will have to wait until tomorrow to get my portable photo studio set up. Hope it's to your liking. Thanks E. -dk

Re: Velocipede Heteroclitical Gets Me Cruisin WIP

Cloudy for a few days now. Hard to get my creative mojo in gear working with the back drop. Started something, something.

Re: Velocipede Heteroclitical Gets Me Cruisin WIP

Thank you all! As we artists know, we're often unsure in the beginning. But if only for economic reasons I couldn't stand to throw it away. Now I'm glad I didn't. Thanks again, dk

Re: Acrylic abstract

This looks like a great start, e. Looking forward to the next layer. But take care of your eyes first. What I'm still learning is to remember to blink. And blink. And blink. -dk

Re: I Tree

Eddie I like the creativity so far. My humble suggestion would be to turn the drawing on its side with the eyes facing up, and putting some sort of skull or face in the background with the eyes looking back at it in curiosity. I would also add more branches to the tree so that what you have is not f...

Re: Grim comes for all

Very impressed with your realism, Eddie. I like the shading in the hair and the feather, down to the drop of blood. Stripped of all the detail, I could see it being a cool demonic tattoo. As you know me, when I see white space I want to fill it, so take this with a grain of salt. I would put more de...

Re: Constructing an Armadillo

Can't complain, for my first show. I sold 3 pieces of the 4x6 drawings. I think it helped to bring people in to stand outside with a plate of cookies. Probably brought in more people if they were offered a bribe. I wouldn't recommend doing that in the dead of winter though. Interesting that people's...

Re: Velocipede Heteroclitical Gets Me Cruisin WIP

Jenn, glad you like what you see so far. I like the Dr. Seuss reference and since I 'm contemplating my next step perhaps I should look into Whoville for inspiration. Thanks! -dk

Velocipede Heteroclitical Gets Me Cruisin WIP

Didn't like this drawing in the beginning and it was destined for trash. Luckily, I hate throwing away a pricey artboard.

Re: Constructing an Armadillo

I'm sure you see a lot of armadillos in Texas. I did a little drawing for a music store in Davis; the name of the store was Armadillo Music. They were nice enough to have an art show in their store, so I did this drawing for them. Thanks Rebecca.
