I'm glad to be back and some of the art on here is spectacular. Not affended in anyway - this is my first landscape of the sea and was working on more of the drama and the effect. the wave at the back is more for movement of the eye but thank you for the comments

Glad to speak to you

Mayfly

This is beautifully done and love the detail the only issue that does stick out is the arm on the Left (one with no hair trailing around it) The armpit is slightly wrong you wouldn't see so much of it and also the finish of the elbow is too high and there is no crease of the inner elbow - if you hol...

this is beautifully done, one lesson i have learnt is if you are not happy with it start onother project, walk away for a while and then you will be touching it up as you see it differently in a different mood or light etc Remember to step away go for a walk then come back its works a treat. Sometim...

I hope this stays as skeleton so you can see the amount of detail you have put into this piece... I too want a photo of you with the finished piece in all of its glory, it...

Wow this is amazing watching it grow!!!!

How will you make it stand up on its own or will you need to use a third leg to support it?

Overall its a great image ..just a couple of things to remember the next time The elbow joints are too high and the forarms are too long - the length of the arm is right, you just have put the joint too high up lower it and its grand The left leg (on the side of the bag) if you add a little more to ...

This amazing will be watching this grow its really interesting how you are constructing this - would never have thought of nails and a welder.
How are you getting the smoothness of the upper thigh bones from the meshed nails?

Commission Portrait

Help. I have gone wrong somewhere and I don't know where. The two babies are from emailed photos but the girl and older boy are from a framed pic but the boy has a sullen face on him so I have tried to alter it to fit the rest of them but something is not right. Any ideas on the young lad on the rig...

First Acrylics - still life

Hi

This is my very first Acrylics painting. Thought I would do something simple hence the still life and give it a go.

It turned out not too bad - twisted banana leaves resting on two vases with flowers (arums) in it. Its A3 size

What do you think?

Thanks joe

I will definitely try next time to alter the tonal values. thanks for the input and I am not sure I am able to reduce the size of the three oils as my sizer reduces the size which messes around on the forums

Speak soon as I am working on more stuff

New Various Works - Oils

Hi

This is new technique for me using wet on wet with oils these are only 8"x6" canvases what do you think?

Because the canvases are still wet and the size hence the white specs so if you could ignore them - definitely lost detail when took
