Re: Italian Girl in Tradtiional Costume

Hi Jenn, the photo I took does not show her clothing well at all... clearly much darker than the original painting. I wish I was a better photographer but for now I just use my cell. Thank you for your advice! I actually do not mind that the black of her clothes meld into the background, my comment...

Re: Colors of the Day

Great choice of colors, and texture. Your method of application paid off in this one... really brings the element of life.. would love to see how that translates in a seascape that is turbulent and stormy.... :)

Re: Let the Games Begin II

Hi Cristo - for your painting 'Pointed" I have to say I have stared at this for some time... I am not per ce, a huge fan of abstracts - moreso drawn to surrealism. But I have to compliment you on your choices of color in this one... Not sure I am on board to the thought process you described - ...

Re: Italian Girl in Tradtiional Costume

She is very good... She has a great luminescence against the background. I am not sure however, what style if any you were going for. Her face clearly has had the most attention to detail, but radially that same level of detail fades. The cloths and ear, for instance, are less worked. If I was to gi...

Re: Eternal Beauty II

its an Oil? Or an acrylic? I use Satin finishes personally unless I want a really glassy look... I don't mind spray finishes (but I use those most for works that are not canvas's and use poly-crylic or a varnish or polyurethane (Note: All are clear - but oil based polyurethanes tend to Yellow more c...

Re: The Walker

Hey E., Great to see you again... Like the fall color choices.... though mostly the flow moves in a downward angle, I am really drawn to the few spatters of upward forking in the color....

All the best, J

Re: Self-Portrait

An artist stops a work when he/she feels its complete. I don't mind so much that it doesn't have a background. I would however, like attention to blending consistency throughout the work - you have really rich color with minimal breakup in some areas, and really grainy texture in others. This gives ...
