Prisoner of the psyche

Thanks Saphyre for the clarification for all.
Actually, the image can be anything one sees or interprets it to be..
That's just what I saw it to be.
Thanks for the look see and comments.

prisoner of the Psyche

It represents both the angst and beauty within ourselves, but sometimes we are a prisoner and can't let out the beauty because of the angst. Yes this is digital art. The sculpture was taken at a museum in New Mexico and when walking there I saw the baby's eath on a wall hanging over the top and shot...

prisoner of the psyche

No E is not a take off on a basekt class but a representation of both the angst and the beauty within our psyche. Made with layers and several filters creating the columnar effect. Thanks for looking.

sketches

really good start - potential there for sure. first one, turn head more instead of face on for more interest, shade cheeks heavier so check bone more prominent, reduce mascara look for more naturalness, reduce size(width) of neck second one, eyes are cockeyed, again try turn head as one would in a p...

church at Lamy

First shot is EXCELLENT, angles just right , lead in perfect, edgy with some tension, interest, not distracting features. I love it. Nice going On shot of window, try to follow rule of thirds unless your shot is perfectly balanced with no distractions, then off center if possible for more interest.....

working on photoshopping skills

ist photo: nice side lighting, the hair is especially nicely lite. Move model away from trees so hair stands out more. Water is too "hot" - ight and sky is blown out. Use neutral density graduated filter to control this when shooting - can't correct in photoshop very well. Also use polorai...

need portrait advice

Bay is right about the eyes showing less on the lt side (model) shadow it heavily so the light source is coming from her rt and drop shadow the head to give it depth and not have it flat looking. Good luck - looks like it will be nice piece. Take a picture of yourself in the mirror to get angle and ...

paper sculpture

I love the simplicity of it and capturing the glint in the eyes makes it come alive. It looks just a bit flat to me. Perhaps a little soft back lighting or very subtle/plain textured background would pop it a little. Careful not to detract from it because its a great piece. Maybe the lighting would ...

church at Lamy

Nice shot Michael and the angle is interesting, but the whole thing looks like its about to fall over. Perhaps if you had the camera up higher the building would straighten, or use a wider angle lens. Might think about taking out (editing) the telephone wires and the car in the background. Sometimes...

Is my work too nice?

Yes, you do what pleases you and the public does like pleasing pieces. Yours is very nice. Your subject has been done a lot. If you are seeking edgy (more than good technique) try a different subject or perhaps a different perspective on it - that also appeals to a certain public. You choose your es...

stree scene

I like the colors, nice composition, pleasant scene. I would have straighten the trees, bend the anches maybe but the trees while old and maybe lifting the sidewalk look like they may fall over soon. Also, narrowing the sidewalk especially at the front of the scene may give it more depth/distance pe...

PUEBLO WOMAN

yes Michael, it is a double exposure or in digital terms, one photo super imposed upon another. It was taken at the Pogue museum in New Mexico.
Your eyes aren't bad.
One judge told me it was amazing and confusing to him - I said go with amazing!

a red reose

Wow! thanks for the the comments -
I wondered what others would see in it since the rose is such a strong statement and such a focal point. I love macro and my favourite saying is "Look and you shall start to see." Thanks for doing both.
