Re: Peonies

As a fellow pastel artist I wish you could have seen my face when I clicked the link. This is absolutely fantastic. I love the subtle blending and fading. Your pick of colors is also great. You should be extremely proud of this piece.

Photographing artwork

Does anyone have some suggestions on photographing your own artwork? I can take good pictures in general but is there a good technique or lighting I can use to take the best pictures of my work? I'd like to create a website for myself. I am not well versed in technical speak so that is going to get ...

Re: The Stag

I am not worried about time with this one. It has already been a deeply personal process from dream to idea to doing it. I am not even sure I would want to sell it if someone offered. This was also my first time doing an animal. It was agony to get the fur right and I was so excited when I finally g...

Re: The Stag

Ack, no I didn't but you are right, it's never going to look complete unless I have one. In my mind i see him in a small clearing in the winter or a field. I've never done a landscape so I think he is going to wait until I have a little practice and am confident I wont mess it up. I am so attached t...

The Stag

I am trying to write a book, it has been in the works for a couple years now and I expect it to take a few more. It is based in modern time New England and is basically about fairies. It started because for a few years I wasn't getting much sleep so I started to have mild hallucinations and some &qu...

Pink Peony

After a few years of hardly picking up a pencil I've suddenly found myself again. I feel like my mind is lighter now, I even want to write again. (picture for that in another post) I recently moved my office at work and needed a picture for the wall behind my desk. It has been a long time since I've...

An old projector screen

I found this old Projector screen in an abandoned area of my office building. I am not sure what I am going to put on it yet, but I am going to paint something. I thought about maybe recording myself painting it as sort of homage to the screen. and then speeding it up so you see the start to the fin...

My husband is mostly annoyed that I had lost my inspiration and stopped doing art these past few years. It has been a very fustrating time for me and he doesn't really understand the spiritual meaning of my "finds". :) Nice to hear your understanding and I hope you find a new space soon.

A torn canvas and an old projector screen.

This area of the building is for discarded things, forgotten things, things that offices don’t need, have oken, have no more room for or have been replaced. Most of the time there is nothing down here of any interest, maybe the stray office chair that is gently used or a filing cabinet that still c...

I love this one, the frame atches the center really well. The way you did the center made me think of it being her looking at the magic mirror. She's obviously pleased with what it has to say today.

Colaberation paintings can be so much fun. You should try it seriously on a bigger canvas, each take a side and then do things to the other as you see fit. I've done one but that was many years ago and I regretfully let them take it. ^.^ have fun!
