Re: Iguana I found outside yesterday

In retrospect, I don't think it was a great idea to intentionally create gaps between the color blocks, given where I ultimately when with the piece. I was hoping to do some kind of fractured/neon veins kind of thing, but decided I didn't like how it looked. I think while interesting, it ultimately ...

Iguana I found outside yesterday

Made this from a picture I took of an iguana that was sitting in the sun outside where I'm staying.

Re: Cold As Ice

^^^ I think you brought up an interesting phenomenon though, and it will ultimately push me to evolve my work, so I don't think it is really a bad thing.

Re: Cold As Ice

November, it's nice to see those filters being used in a fresh way. You know it's funny you mention that, cause my friend thought I used filters for the portrait too, but actually I did it all by hand :D The only filtering going on is on the background, where I used "accented edges" at on...

Cold As Ice

I made this character portrait for a friend in a game we mutually play. Please excuse the small size and poor compression quality as I am not home to upload the original file. http://www.imgur.com/tXMSoST.jpg Looking for feedback on what looks poorly done, what looks unpolished, and what it is that ...

Re: Grumpy Face Portrait - WIP

Thank you Carl, I do not often get told that I have backbone. In fact, I rarely hear that word in any context; it has such wonderfully connotation. Your feedback, is as always, appreciated. I was actually thinking that the hair was a bit thin and that was going to be my next focus, so it is good to ...

Re: Not a new member, but I just found out about the Forums!

Hi Nadine, From what I've seen of your gallery, you don't need college if you're intending to go for skill development purposes; you're fantastic! I agree about DeviantArt. I joined there almost a decade ago and recently returned, only to find it wildly different and not very community driven. I jus...

Re: Lavender Dreams

I agree with Sleepless-Puppet, I think that in coloring the body, you've lost something of the dreamy crispness from before. I do think that some of that can be recovered with some judicious shading. I quite like the pose and lavender flowers though

Re: Grumpy Face Portrait - WIP

Fixed the eyes. Still more work to do, but the most pressing problem has been resolved I think.

Re: Grumpy Face Portrait - WIP

@Sleepless-Puppet

Thanks for the suggestion! I didn't think to move the whole pupil, only the iris. I'll try that out in my next revision attempt

Re: Grumpy Face Portrait - WIP

@CarlOwn I did not simply "blow off" your comments. I did indeed think about what expression I wished to portray, and it was one of earnest sarcasm. I think that the eyes do show that, but that that there is an issue with the symmetry that I can't quite place, and that issue is, to me, cre...

Re: Grumpy Face Portrait - WIP

@ CarlOwen I tried to redo the eyes, but somehow adding more detail and re-sizing them in the style I have developed makes them look oddly intense. I'm still flummoxed by what to do about them. To me, the pupils seem to large or wildeyed. @ehoeveler I mean, yeah, they are acceptable with the facial ...

Camouflage

This is the start of a piece I'm working on in collaboration with my Mom as I show her how to use Krita. I'm really fond of using the symmetry tool to create shapes until something grabs my eye and I begin to develop it further. I like the Rorschach effect the tool gives, and this piece suggests how...

Hola

My name's November and I make digital art, usually paintings and drawings. I make art as a way to cope with debilitating surgical complications. Usually sad, definitely queer, always improving.

Grumpy Face Portrait - WIP

I'm once again in need of critique. I know that there is something wrong with the eyes in this portrait, but other than that, I'm not sure how to move forward with it. Suggestions and critiques would be most welcome. https://40.media.tumblr.com/09c9435875817836f216aec1b757fdee/tumblr_nua6w1be0E1ufb4...

Crystalline

This piece is titled, "Crystalline". Something feels off to me, but I can't quite place my finger on in. Any feedback on what I should do to improve or further develop this piece would be fantastic. http://pre07.deviantart.net/4068/th/pre/i/2015/259/f/7/crystalline_by_woundedheartsmakeart-...
