Re: Forest Depths

nigelartist wrote:Nice and peaceful scene. What fish are they? Gold fish? Koi carp?

Hi nigelartist - I had carp in mind, but they aren't so much a particular species as a general representation of fish.

Forest Depths

I keep thinking about the tilt of time, Deep Time. The Drowned Lands - now 300 feet deep under water - where mysteries once abounded. They are now the place where fish in silent passage drift by. Hence this drawing.

Myth Becomes Dream

I was thinking about the stories of time gone by. Stories that have become myths. And these myths in turn, as the ages pass, have slipped away. New people, new lands, new stories, each in turn slipping into that deep and faraway place we sometimes connect into and call it a dream. Myth Becomes Dream...

Re: Kuwaiti Tree Dancers

I always like the simplicity of a gray-scale drawing but adding color would be lovely, also. I agree. I also had enough people echo you that I took a series of pencil drawings I'd done of Tree Dancers and reworked prints with colour pencil. Not sure if it's cool to put a link to a different site he...

Re: Kuwaiti Tree Dancers

Thanks so much Sidney Eileen and ehoeveler! No doubt I could have spent a long time filling in the drawing, but I'm glad you are fine with where I chose to stop it :)

Kuwaiti Tree Dancers

I recently spent 2 weeks in Kuwait City while my Lady was doing some contract work there. Not much to walk to in the neighbourhood, so I spent a fair bit of time drawing in the hotel room. Came up with these 4 drawings. 14" x 17" pencil on a medium grade Strathmore pad with a yellowish cas...

Re: Night Toad

Thanks for the thoughtful comments Jennifer. I must admit that though I was concerned with the light arrangement in the top half of the piece, in the bottom half I wanted more of a dreamscape feel where if you pause to focus on one element it disconnects a bit and becomes an individual entity within...

Re: markfineart

Thanks DK. I must say I found one or two incomplete links on your site, and I had to find the navigation features for your gallery. It might be worth having someone look at all the pages to be sure they work (unless you are a do-it-yourselfer - I certainly am not one!).

markfineart

I thought I'd share my website here. It was put together by a web designer using WordPress, and uses Flash for the gallery views. I would have liked a static gallery but my designer convinced me that this was very user friendly and easy for me to make adjustments in. The biggest downside (other than...

Night Toad

I had this vision of life in the shadow of a giant toadstool. So I drew some of it out.
