I like the way it tur...

Re: New Painting

Thank you Elizabeth for your comment, I want you to check out another new one I posted in my gallery of a moose. You could not see it very well, so I posted a new close up view, it was on two canvases then put in a floating frame. Thanks!

Re: New Painting

Here is a better picture of my new piece, the hardest part for me was the water and trying to paint the rocks underneath so they look subtle . I wonder if there is a technique someone could share with me on how to paint water a little more blended and clouds wispier . Thanks so much

New Painting

My newest painting going into a gallery in Barrie, Ontario. I usually don't paint such vivid colors but I really love the intensity of them. Almost finished , sent the owner of the gallery a sneak peak. She said she can't wait to see it in person.

Re: What to charge for a sketch

Hello Carl , thanks for responding. This is a new opportunity for me. I am not sure about what commission she will charge, we are still discussing that aspect but she loves my art and was going to just put a copy from a photo of her store on her own mugs to advertise her store and tshirts for her em...

What to charge for a sketch

I have had a client ask me to do a sketch of her store, to then have printed on mugs and t-shirts for advertising. I do not have a clue as to what to charge for something like this, it took me a couple of hours to do the sketch , any opinions on this would be really helpful. My artwork, paintings an...

Re: New Painting

It definitely was a very.....sunny day, the sunlight is coming through the trees from the right, so it in fact is blurry from the light in the photo. So I painted the detail and highlights from the sun on the rocks and to the left side of the picture if you know what I mean. If I had taken the photo...

Re: New Painting

Peter, maybe my problem is that I took the picture with my cell phone, it is a large painting and to post it I had to make it smaller , I will try to take another one with my camera, it is a painting with a lot of rocks and vegetation, where I hiked and stood under that wonderful rock formation. Don...

New Painting

Just thought I would show this new painting. I took the photograph up at Algonquin Provincial Park a couple years ago. It was so gorgeous up there it was at The Lake of Two Rivers. I finally decided to paint it as I loved the place so much, its hanging in my dining room now and everytime I look at i...

Creating Texture in Acrylic Paintings

I have been experimenting on creating texture in my acrylic painting, I tried one from an art supply store and it was very expensive and decided I wanted to try to make my own naturally. I tried adding sand to my acrylic and applying with a palette knife. Can anyone give me suggestions or applicatio...

Re: New paintings

Thanks St. Luke, isn't it funny how each person feels something different when they look at art. When I look at them I feel peace and tranquility no sadness at all. I had quite a sadness a couple years earlier when I was going through a divorce and probably would have done one single chair as that i...

Re: New paintings

Thanks E, the birch one is better in person, I had a photograph and painted the exact same colours from that. It looks 3 D in person as I am experimenting with texture mediums for the bark, I added sand to the paint and it looks so...cool!
