here is an example of the animal (subjective) series http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7419/8724244873_84f6240df5.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7285/8725364954_9985815a30.jpg the idea of making a living at creating art is very appealing (after all these years). I will aim for it. M. Evans

Re: Mark Evans Image Galleries

Hi, there Mark - Love your Avatar picture - makes you look like an astronaut. Even more, I love your subtly stripped-down abstracts, especially both the Cat and Cross series. The website is e-z access and I can get to those images quite quickly - lucky us! Thank You, E thanks for the kind comments....

Re: Mark Evans Image Galleries

Nice website. Interesting fixation with crosses. Not a Christian like myself perchance? Not christian, per se. The Calvary Telegraph series is a bit tongue in cheek - a side effect of chance shapes (crossed lines) in the spare landscape of the images. I'm not much into creating images with a certai...

Re: Utrecht American Master's Printmaking Paper

Thanks for the bump! In a sprawling forum like this I'm guessing someone has used this paper prior.

Utrecht American Master's Printmaking Paper

Has anyone used this Utrecht product - Utrecht American Master's Printmaking Paper (?) I've been casting around for a new monoprint paper that has a bit more 'beef' than medium weight sulfite papers that I've been using (they tend to pucker or buckle when Akua Kolor ink and relief inks get layers on...

Here is a link to my monoprint image galleries
(there are a couple galleries towards the back with transfer drawings and lino prints.
Anyone else doing transfer drawing?)

Input and comment is always appreciated

Re: old work

Pretty cool almost Dadaist feel. Definitely surreal.
THis is strictly a side note: The classical looking frame sort of detracts from the image for me. Or distracts. A simple black or neutral box would return the focus to the image. But I'm just more into 'less is more' when I do presentation.

Re: Recent painting

like the colors and the abstraction. I echo what the top poster, Joe said... the shapes seem self-conscious. segregated. Somehow work the shapes and lines into each other. Perhaps by over painting. The areas that have more depth work better for me. The areas where shape and color are all on top are ...
