Re: White Mare with Fillie

Hi Pooch, we used to have a farm, but we don't now, so drawing at the coral is out. I really get what you mean about drawing from memory; I've noticed that when I draw from a photo I like it a lot better. I have been working on anatomy. That is where I started on this journey. I think I don't unders...

Re: White Mare with Fillie

Thanks Carl. You are right. When I get to a place where I like it, I am nervous about going any father because I don't want to mess it up or over paint, but I've been looking at the paintings I really like and they have bold strokes. Thanks for you encouragement. I will keep working at it.

Re: Watercolor and oil paintings

I really like the composition on the blue boats. The eye circled around and comes back to front center. Very Nice. I think is a calm, peaceful spot. I like it very much. Also, I think your flowers are pretty. The brown and pink are nice. I don't like the composition as much on this one. You might tr...

Re: Watercolor Hunting Dog

I see what you mean. Thanks! I was drawing from a couple of different photos, trying to make it look like my friends dog and I missed the back ear. I am sure the ear would show some too. Thanks again!

Re: Watercolor Mare with Colt

Thank you for you comment. I think your idea of less light on the back is good. Now that I look at it; I think it looks like the light is coming straight down instead of from behind. I will work on it. Thanks again!

Watercolor Mare with Colt

Mare_Colt 1 sm.jpg Hi all, I would like comments on this. I think it is almost done, but I can't decide what it needs to be finished. I like the way the light shines from behind the horses and between their legs. It was something new I was trying. I think it is overpainted. I wanted to do something...

Re: I think I hate this...... but unsure

I agree with Jenn. I like the movement, repetition, and colors. It is quite interesting to look at. I am interested in knowing your concept as well. What did you have in mind?

Re: New Bedroom Project

Hi Karen,
Your flowers and leaves are beautiful! I especially like the depth you achieve in the flowers and the individual petals. Very nice!

Re: Gremlins anybody?

I like it. Your facial expressions are great! However, I think the intense purple in the background draws the attention away from your subjects. I like the color combinations a lot, I am just wondering if calming the background down some would enhance your subjects. The purple does throw your yellow...
