You did a very nice job with the skin tones here. Skin tones are hard and you did very well. This piece would be even better if you added some texture to the skin and clothing. Right now it looks little on the plastic side. Prehaps a diffrent background? Either a solid color or some sort of actual s...
I don't know if there's more to the red bit that's being cut off by the picture but I feel like there should be more of a red influence to the picture with that. Like you have the green. Right now it just looks like a red mistake on the edge of the page. I like what you're going for here though.
Also, there is no shame in using reference pictures. People who have been at this for decades still use them. Why? Becuase the human brain is stupid and really has like no idea what things look like in real life.

In the first pic this is random and off center, in the second it mirrors the other half. As for tablets, well they can be really pricy. So really it depends on your budget and...
Happy to see you didn't completely drop the abstract grunge background you had there. The newest version looks like an old photo that is beginning to fade. Which is pretty sweet. And honestly, she kind of looks like my grandma. So that's pretty neat for me. I would like to see a little more warmth i...
Moving the other pupil was a good choice! Layers! Aren't they useful? Might try adding a slight gradient to the skull to give shadow and depth. I totally dig watching your progress.
Oddly every teacher I've ever had has started us on watercolor first. I do think Acrylic is the easiest to start with because you don't have to know as much theory. Also I would probably start with something like a liqutex set. Not the cheap-o paints from walmart or something like that. Use actual f...
