Okay about pricing of photographs. It naturally depends how the photo is to be used in the publishing media...Most times the company will more or less dictate how much they will pay you...that is if you deal directly with a company. There are supposedly stock photography price standards however...on...

Well as far as tweaking around with the old website...maybe if I had more HTML and CSS savvy I could change things..the sizes of things are pretty much dictated to the site's builder--you really can't do much to change things....those pics on the top are all considered thumbnail size, yet for some r...

My new website

I still have my "old" website that I had previously posted and I've made improvements on it...first I got rid of the pop-up ads by paying a small fee monthly...I also added e-mail links to me should people..prospective clients want to contact me to see more of my work...this was on the sug...

Announcement: Etsy Website: A place to sell your work

It was one of those dumb luck things and it's amazing how one things leads to another to another. I belong to MyLot.com which is one of those discussion groups you can belong to and actually earn money for each discussion you participate or initiate. For the heck of it I typed in the word crafts, an...

My goodness it's been awhile since I've been here. I sometimes wonder the wisdom of having my own computer now--I was belly-aching for so long of wanting one--you see it's not uncommon for me now to be glued in front of the computer until four in the morning!!! Still busy scanning photos, and trying...

I thought I just add this comment to my "tutorial" here.... I've been explaining the various concepts of what's out there as far as the stock photography "industry"---and yes, it could be considered an industry, and in many ways the only ones getiting rich, especially in the micr...

From what I understand, if in most cases an artist wants to exhibit their work at a gallery, doesn't the gallery usually suggest paying for the costs of framing artwork with one of thier framers, which of course charge an arm and a leg? It's no wonder most of us are "starving" artists :lol...

THE BUSINESS END OF PHOTOGRAPHY--PART II

The rate of change that has occurred in the photography business is staggering, and to a newcomer to it all it can be confusing...It certainly is for me. I'm by no means a newbie to the photography world, as I've been involved with photography in one way or another just about my whole life. It wasn'...

I've always been artistically inclined...much to the horror of my family...since I was a science geek...so they naturally assumed when I went to college I'd emerge a female Einstien...I still do love the sciences but I always knew the arts were my passion, what made sense to me..and what I wanted to...

That really is an amazing painting..and I agree that the amount of time that has passed shouldn't prevent you from continuing on....I happen to also be a writer....there's a novel in the works that I go back to now and then...don't dare ask how long I started it...but just as well I didn't write and...

I just I'd add my two cents worth about the painting--I really loved it--the boy's expression of perhaps what could be considered as smugness adn definance came through--A really excellent work!!

I just really had to respond to you thread here--cause believe me you're not the only one who has been struggling--- Frist I think every artist questions their worth and talent---somedays we feel on top of the world and are creative geniuses, and other times, probably more often than not, we look an...

Your project is a wonderful idea, but I kind of agree with Erika that they shouldn't be too posed---the unexpected candid shots are usually the best...and perhaps at some kind of event??? Like a flea market...type thing...some kind of public affair were lots of people mingle about--I took some great...
