Here are a few of my favorite quotes. "Truth is a constant delight to those that love her; such beauty holds no power to offend." ~~ Stephen Lawhead "There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all...

One of my favorite artists, who is still living, is Forest Rogers. She is primarily a sculptor.

You're welcome! :)

I've never really felt "right" about very humanlike mermaids or faeries. They're not supposed to look exactly like humans (in my mind, anyway). So I like what you've done with this piece.

Your first attempt? Wow! Okay. First let me say that I really like the style of this piece; it looks otherworldly (which makes a lot of sense for a mermaid!). What I noticed is that her proportions are not quite "human." Now, this can be good or bad, depending on your intentions. I persona...

It's funny... I saw a person, not a bottle, in the first photo. A woman wearing glasses, sitting near the porch wall with her chin on her hand. Now I see a bottle (now that someone said it was a bottle). Interesting. If you do more photos of this place, it might be interesting to try one from the sa...

It looks like a peaceful spot in a very remote area, devoid of all humans but the viewer. It could even be on another planet. I can almost feel the wind blowing, and perhaps hear the solitary cry of a seabird. The color palette is soothing to me. It feels like a wild place, yet peaceful (as long as ...

I knew an artist who made a figurative piece out of loaves of
ead, ramen (for hair), etc. It was cool, but it didn't hold up long (nor was it meant to).

I know of at least one sculptor that sculpts his pieces in polymer clay, and then reproduces some of them in resin. Here is a moldmaking/casting tutorial he created: http://spectre-studios.com/moldtut Here are a couple more tutorials: http://dowitstudio.com/Sculpting%20tutorial.htm http://www.danper...

She's very elegant.

Are you looking for a critique, or just showing her off?

Greetings from a Sculptress of Fantasy! :-)

Hello! I've been lurking around the gallery for a little while, ogling all the pretty things, and thought I should come in and introduce myself. :) I've done artwork in various mediums and dimensions, but my passion and specialty is small-scale sculpture. I love creating fantasy creatures in miniatu...

Sounds like fun! Will the contests likely be open to all mediums? (I am a sculptor, and we get left out sometimes.) :(
