I entered you as a friend on the community page. Hope you don't mind. We seem to have a lot in common. I lived for about ten years near Iowa City. I went back to school for art (at 50 yrs old) at U. Of Iowa, Iowa City. No children but I'm from a big family, now all up and down the east coast. Life took a quirky turn when I ended up with my husband in San Felipe Baja Mexico. Love the sun, beaches, and expat community here. The Mexicans are hard working, decent people who welcome us with open arms (for the most part). I started painting memorial dog portraits because it's something I'm very good at doing, people love them, there's a market, and It works. I'd like to become the "E. Landseer" of the 21st Century.

Thank you for looking my way! Yes, the dogs are realistic for sure. My goal was/is to give people a very lifelike memorial for their loved family member. I work closely with photos. In reality, up close, you can obviously see, they are paintings. Your lovely works, remind me of my own "found" art. Although, mine has never reached the beautiful level of yours.
