  • About Me: Rita Romero is a contemporary realist artist working in oil and soft pastel to create fine art paintings and commissioned portraits. Born in Tucson, Arizona, Rita began drawing and painting at an early age, winning her first award in a high school art competition. Her artistic journey and continual search to achieve a balance of craftsmanship and artistic expression has been heavily influenced by the work of recognized Masters – both old and new – of classical realism. Rita Romero's work has been featured in numerous national juried art competitions and won many awards. Her work has been exhibited in the Triton Museum of Art and the Haggin Museum of Art, as well as the M.K. Sloan and Edith Lambert art galleries in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Hi Rita. Thank you for your comment on my work Alexandra. I see that you study light and shade (form) using various colours and values too!
I also see that you have added me on your friends, so I suppose I can add you as a friend too? Best, Jukka.

Thank you. Actually being friends on this site, I think, means that when you want to notice someone and forgot who they are that the avatar in the friends section helps you to remember. Anyway that is how I use it most of the time, and of course, to ask a technical question from time to time.

Thank you. Now, may I add you as a friend on this site? Or is that a step that needs to be taken at a later time after you have viewed my work and most importantly some of my strong comments to other artists?

Hi Carl. I greatly appreciate your comments. Yes, you may download the pictures for study purposes. I treat pastel as a painting medium and approach my work that way. Thanks. :D

Good evening Rita. I have looked at your work for a while now. I have decided to study what you do. May I download some of you pictures so I may study in detail. I know I could without your permission as I know my way around this site. But, that would be a violation of trust and simple honor. I don't do that kind of thing. I am not interested in copying your technical skill. I am interested in studying how you use the illusion of light with varying color intensities to give focus aiming the viewer to the place you want the viewer to linger. Such skill. I am envious. Also, I would like to list you as a friend on this site. Think before you answer yes or no. I will be glad to answer any questions before you decide. I never list a friend or download before I ask and gain permission.
