  • About Me: I feel that art can be found in every place, time, situation and subject, it but remains for the individual to perceive and allow themselves to recognize it. Art enriches all peoples, in all stations and ages of life. However like life art is transient- from the crumbling of the worlds ancient architecture, to the end of service of an outdated machine like the space shuttle, or a flower wilting after its bloom has faded. Much of my art reflects that eternal link of finality, existing briefly and viewed by chance. Many times the form of my art has been dictated by necessity- how much time can I steal and what medium do I have access to? Being forced to limit what I can produce based on this has resulted in a quit varied amount of work, which I have been slowly compiling and attempting to share (admittedly, sadly- with an eye towards a profit). I am self taught for the most part though my mother is an artist and historian and has taught me many things about art and life. If given the opportunity I would love to create more sculptures, as it is my preferred medium, though I find installation art fun as well. Born and raised in WV I have a deep love of nature, and an overdeveloped paranoia of the intentions of others- socially I prefer the absolute honesty of animals for the most part. The complex messages and and world changing statements seemingly so sought after in popular art today can be found in some of my work, but ultimately I hope to avoid this and present the beauty, love and peace that seem so out of reach to so many. No matter how brief beauty shall sustain us and bring peace to the troubled soul.

Gotta admit, being a Mom is a game-changer.
There is no greater creative project than raising a child.
I respect your opinion. Thanks, E

Not offended at all, Heather. Yes, there is a raunchiness to the images that is pretty in-your-face. I do like these, however
because of the intentional raw and rough. I think this is all
definitely a young man's point of view and I'm amused by it.
Would I use these in a kid's modeling class? Nope.
This particular 'look' is for adults only!
Thanks, E

Thanks for the encouragement, Heather. I'd never have guessed from your work that you are a beginner. I have a feeling you have been "living" art all your life, though, and that counts for experience as well. I should know because I took a twenty-some year break from making art but continued to teach art to my children so it was always inside me. Now that I'm actually producing again, it's like coming back home. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for viewing and commenting on my recent submissions (I think) I wasn't sure how to take the comment I took the photo as part od a study in texture and sky in a large scrape yard near where I live. I liked the B&W vesion after post capture processing through an HDR program and Photoshop.
Again, Thanks for viewing

watermarks, how important are they? on Sat Aug 25, 2012 8:48 am
