“from an idea to a reality”

At the age of eight years old Mijail Quesada of Lima, Peru began his journey to become an art legend. In this article we are highlighting his surrealism works painted in oil on canvass. He gives his chief influences as Da Vinci, Van Gogh, Dali, and Bosch.

Mijail is not just a painter, but also a rock vocalist, guitarist, pianist, writer of the novel “Sex, Rock and Venja” (free on his website); also a programmer currently developing innovative android apps, web designer, database administrator, and even runs his own event planning business.

“I am also an inventor. I have more a hundred inventions to be developed some just with software programming and others need electronic engineering knowledge and experience. I want to be the best in all of these fields and I work very hard for it."

What are you trying to convey through your art?

I’m trying to develop very creative paintings, the most creative ones in the world if possible, while maintaining a good sense of style and looks, and having a hidden meaning.

What exposure have you had?

When I was eight I did my first expo at a local museum. I left art since then, to return since about the last a year and a half. Now I’m currently being interviewed by an online art store. I haven’t had much exposure, since I’m just showing my art for only about the past three weeks.

Do you have any regrets in your life as an artist?

Well, if you are an artist you are most likely to be more sensitive, so things will affect you more. And if you are creative, you probably would go from chaos to peace, from love to hate, from freedom to boredom; as an artist is very hard to fall in-between. People are less likely to understand you.

What plans do you have for the future of your art?

Well as I said before my goal is to be the best that has ever existed, and I won’t rest until I’ve achieved that. Of course in art there isn’t such a thing as “the best”, so I’ll settle to be considered a legend like Da Vinci. I have made my own painting style like Picasso or Van Gogh did their own. In my case it gives subjects a greater amount of sensitivity than without it. I've just developed that style, and until now I have only two paintings employed with that technique. When I have five, Ill publish them on my website.

Do you have any advice for emerging artists?

Yes, if you make a drawing, or painting or any kind of art, and you show it to a friend or your family, and they tell you they don’t like it. Don’t quit, nor worry about it. If you show to these same people one of the paintings of Bosch or Miró, they probably won’t like those either, and they were great painters. Plus people could just make discouraging remarks like that out of envy, or just to be mean.

Tell me something interesting in your life that relates to your art.

I have ideas that come whenever I want to. I don’t have to put special music nor do special techniques for them to come. They are infinite, and only stop because I don’t like just writing ideas or drafts and not developing them.

How do you promote your art both on and off the internet?

Well I just made a website, which I’m hoping you will help me promote :

Have you sold any of your artworks? If so, how?

Yes, one through my website, for a guy that lives in Sweden. He paid me via PayPal and I sent him the painting to his home. Another in Australia and other in NY. My brothers live there and sold them to art buyers.

How should people find you online….
