I undertook my studies of art at the Ferrara School of Fine Art in Italy, my native country, where I have also exhibited my work. Since 2000 I have been based in England, a country with which I have fallen madly in love. After many years of travelling, my affection for Yorkshire has persuaded me to finally settle down and pursue a career as an artist in this region.
My paintings are inspired by a variety of sources, principally my perception of reality combined with forms that exist only in my imagination. In my work I try to bring objects to life in a new light, with the desire of creating an evocative atmosphere similar to that woven in spellbinding tales. The colour scheme is inspired by Renaissance and Surrealist art and by the ambience of Gothic where a few predominant colours emerge from the surrounding darkness.
